1966 Oldsmobile 442 Restomod Story

Obviously not your father’s Olds! This was a restomod of a solid straight car. The owner’s intent was to maintain key styling elements of the original car, with significant drivetrain and cabin updates to make the car a safe, modern reliable driver true to the Oldsmobile heritage of the 60’s.

This original 442 was missing her original engine, so it was a great car to modify into an all Oldsmobile-powered custom/restomod.  A 455 engine was stroked and bored to near 500 inches. From there the aluminum heads and fuel injection were added on. The motor is backed by a turbo 400 with a gear vendor overdrive behind that.   Tasteful and subtle mods have been done throughout the build with an entirely fabricated air induction and engine bay that pays tribute to the W-30 cars of the era.  The body was restored to perfection and cut-and-buffed to a mirror finish.  This car goes as well as she looks and has already won a Best of Show honor.
